"Country Road to the Sea"

I was drawn to this view by the heavenly blue of the sea beyond a steep country road. Layers of descending landscape, softened by shadow, lead the eye downhill towards the water. In painting this scene, I wanted to capture that sense of being drawn towards the sea, with its luminous colour promising something wonderful at the end of your journey.
